2021 NBA Offseason Tracker

The opening day of the NBA offseason is always a wild ride with a ton of action, and I'm here to track down all of the news. I will update each item with the years, money, and who broke the stories as they come in. My salary projections tend to be pretty accurate based on the total dollars and years that reported, and I'll make note of my reasoning for some of them.

Estimation/Player option/Team option/Not fully guaranteed

Ball agrees to sign-and-trade to Chicago: 4 years, $85 million (Shams)

Bulls receive:
Lonzo Ball$19,767,442$20,755,814$21,744,186$22,732,558

Pelicans receive:
Tomas Satoransky$10,000,000
Garrett Temple     $4,667,442??
2nd round pick

No reporting yet on Temple's deal aside from Marc Spears saying the last year isn't guaranteed, so I'm estimating an amount needed to match Ball's salary.

Barton re-signs with Denver: 2 years, $32 million (Haynes)
Will Barton$15,384,615$16,615,385

Hardaway re-signs with Dallas: 4 years, $72 million (Shams)
Tim Hardaway Jr.$16,071,429$17,357,143$18,642,857$19,928,571

8/9 UPDATE: It turns out that it is actually a $75 million contract, and the Mavs are front-loading it according to MacMahon. It's a smart move to have the max decreases per season since they are operating over the cap while not in danger of crossing the luxury tax this season.

Tim Hardaway Jr.$21,306,818$19,602,273$17,897,727$16,193,182

Conley re-signs with Utah: 3 years, $68 million (Shams)
Mike Conley$20,987,654$22,666,667$24,345,679

Marjonavic re-signs with Dallas: two years, $7 million (Shams/Scotto)
Boban Marjanovic$3,365,385$3,634,615

8/9 UPDATE: Details are finally out through Scotto, and it's actually more than ta "one year deal" as Shams first reported last week.

Butler "expected to" sign max extension: 4 years, $184 million (Shams/Krawczynski)
Jimmy Butler$36,016,200$41,071,429$44,357,143$47,642,857$50,928,571

First year of the extension replaces his current $37,653,300 player option for 2022, but I'm a little curious about the reported number because a max contract next year is projected to be $186.6 million. I initially thought that he might be opting into his player option and just adding three years with a 20% raise in 2023, but that ($45,183,960) would take him past the expected max salary for that year ($41,650,000).

Green re-signs with Denver: 2 years, $17 million (Shams)
JaMychal Green$8,292,683$8,707,317

Alec Burks re-signs with New York: 3 years, $30 million (Woj)
Alec Burks$9,523,810$10,000,000$10,476,190

Noel re-signs with New York: 3 years, $32 million (Woj)
Nerlens Noel$10,158,730$10,666,667$11,174,603

Allen re-signs with Cleveland: 5 years, $100 million (Stein)
Jarrett Allen$17,241,379$18,620,690$20,000,000$21,379,310$22,758,621

Olynyk signs with Detroit: 3 years, $37 million (Woj)
Kelly Olynyk$11,746,032$12,333,333$12,920,635

Payne re-signs with Phoenix: 3 years, $19 million (Haynes)
Cameron Payne$6,031,746$6,333,333$6,634,921

Young "likely" to sign max extension with Atlanta (Schultz/Amick)
Trae Young$8,326,471$29,750,000$32,130,000$34,510,000$36,890,000$39,270,000

$172 million contract could become $207 million if he makes an All-NBA team next season.

McConnell re-signs with Indiana: 4 years (Shams)
T.J. McConnell$8,139,535$8,546,512$8,953,488$9,360,465

Robinson re-signs with Miami: 5 years, $90 million (Woj)
Duncan Robinson$15,517,241$16,758,621$18,000,000$19,241,379$20,482,759

Craig signs with Pacers: 2 years, $10 million (Woj)
Torrey Craig$4,910,000$5,155,500

Using the equivalent of the Room MLE amount as a placeholder for now.

McDermott signs with Spurs: 3 years, $42 million (Shams)
Doug McDermott$13,333,333$14,000,000$14,666,667

8/8 UPDATE: This officially was completed as a sign-and-trade with San Antonio sending a 2nd round pick (likely top-55 protected) for McDermott, a 2nd round pick, and the right to swap 2nd round picks in the future so that Indiana could create a Trade Exception of $7,333,333 that was McDermott's previous salary due to Base Year Compensation.

Paul re-signs with Phoenix: 4 years, "up to" $120 million (Haynes)
Chris Paul$26,785,714$28,928,571$31,071,429$33,214,286

8/3 UPDATE: The final year is a team option according to John Gambadoro of 98.7 FM Phoenix.

Lowry agrees sign-and-trade to Miami: 3 years, "approximately" $90 million (Woj)

Heat receive:
Kyle Lowry$27,251,280$28,613,844$29,976,408

Raptors receive:
Goran Dragic$19,440,000
Precious Achiuwa$2,711,280$2,840,160$4,379,527

Full details of the moving pieces aren't available yet, but my estimate is based on Goran Dragic and Precious Achiuwa going to Toronto based on previous speculation.

8/6 UPDATE: It is indeed for Dragic and Achiuwa, which made my estimate of $85 million correct.

Brown signs with Dallas: 2 years, $6 million (Stein)
Sterling Brown$2,926,829$3,073,171

Green signs with Denver: 2 years, $10 million (Andrews)
Jeff Green$4,910,000$5,155,500

Using the equivalent of the Room MLE amount as a placeholder for now.

Nwaba re-signs with Houston: 3 years, $15 million (Stein)
David Nwaba$4,629,630$5,000,000$5,370,370

Harkless re-signs with Sacramento: 2 years, $9 million (Woj)
Maurice Harkless$4,347,600$4,564,980

Max number is officially $8,912,580 through Non-Bird rights.

Korkmaz re-signs with Philadelphia: 3 years, $15 million (Woj)
Furkan Korkmaz$4,629,630$5,000,000$5,370,370

Same situation as Harkless above.

Gray Trent Jr$16,666,667$18,000,000$19,333,333

Collins signs with Spurs: 3 years, $22 million (Woj)
Zach Collins$6,984,127$7,333,333$7,682,540

Ariza (re-)signs with the Lakers: one year deal (Woj)
Trevor Ariza$1,669,178

Ellington (re-)signs wih the Lakers: one year deal (Haynes)
Wayne Ellington$1,669,178

Len signs with Kings: 2 years, $7.6 million (Shams)
Alex Len$3,732,000$3,918,600

Estimating BAE value.

Howard (re-)signs with the Lakers (Shams)
Dwight Howard$1,669,178

Hill re-signs with Atlanta: one year deal (Woj)
Solomon Hill$1,669,178

Fournier signs with New York: 4 years, "as much as" $78 million (Woj)
Evan Fournier$18,139,535$19,046,512$19,953,488$20,860,465

8/17 UPDATE:  Boston actually convinced New York to turn this into a sign-and-trade so that they can create a Trade Exception equal to his salary for future possible additions. That flexibility will cost the Celtics two 2nd round picks (one is unlikely to convey, per Tim Bontemps, so likely top-55 protected), and the Knicks send a little bit of cash the other way. UPDATE again: Keith Smith confirms that one of the picks is Charlotte's top-55 protected 2022 pick that was sent in last year's similar Gordon Hayward sign-and-trade that created the Trade Exception used to acquire Fournier. It's like deja vu all over again.

Batum re-signs with the Clippers: two years (Shams)
Nicolas Batum$3,170,029$3,328,531

Based on the initial reporting, it's unclear if this will be coming from the Taxpayer MLE or simply with Non-Bird Rights. This projection is based on the latter as 120% of his minimum salary, and I wouldn't be surprised if there is a play option for the second year.

8/13 UPDATE: It became evident once Winslow was signed with the TP MLE that this is just through Non-Bird Rights, and Ohm Youngmisuk confirms now that it is $6.5 million with the second year being a player option.

Rose re-signs with New York: 3 years, $43 million (Woj)
Derrick Rose$13,271,605$14,333,333$15,395,062

The max possible with Early Bird Rights would be $43.5 million, so they can keep his $9,987,804 cap hold on the books to use the rest of their space before making this official.

8/4 UPDATE: According to Ryan McDonough and Zach Lowe, the final years of the deals for Burks, Noel, and Rose are team options like Fournier's final year.

Caruso signs with Chicago: 4 years, $37 million (Woj)
Alex Caruso$8,604,651$9,034,884$9,465,116$9,895,349

McGee signs with Phoenix: 1 year, $5 million (Haynes)
JaVale McGee$5,000,000

Joseph re-signs with Detroit: 2 years, $10 million (Haynes)
Cory Joseph$4,910,000$5,155,500

Almost certainly will be the Room MLE after using all of their cap space.

Theis agrees to sign-and-trade to Houston: 4 years, $36 million (Woj)
Daniel Theis$8,280,351$8,694,369$9,108,386$9,522,404

Using the Oladipo trade exception would technically cap it at $35.6 million.

Zeller signs with Portland: one year deal (Woj)

Lyles signs with Detroit: 2 years, $5 million (Haynes)
Trey Lyles$2,500,000$2,625,000

The minimum for Lyles would be $4.44 million over two years, so "$5 million" might be rounding up.

8/8 UPDATE:  Keith Smith clarified that it is for actually over $5 million as they used cap space for the numbers above.

Bullock signs with Dallas: 3 years, $30.5 million (Shams)
Reggie Bullock$9,536,000$10,012,800$10,489,600

Estimating with the full MLE if they stay as an over the cap team, which would likely make the Brown signing the BAE.

Tucker signs with Miami: 2 years, $15 million (Shams)
P.J. Tucker$7,317,073$7,682,927

Dieng signs with Atlanta: 1 year, $4 million (Krawczynski)
Gorgui Dieng$4,000,000

Graham agrees to sign-and-trade to New Orleans: 4 years, $47 million (Woj)

Pelicans receive:
Devonte' Graham$10,930,233$11,476,744$12,023,256$12,569,767

2022 1st round pick (protected 1-14)

Rivers re-signs with Denver: one year deal (Haynes)

Powell re-signs with Portland: 5 years, $90 million (Woj)
Norman Powell$15,517,241$16,758,621$18,000,000$19,241,379$20,482,759

Griffin re-signs with Brooklyn: one year deal (Woj), minimum contract (Scotto)
Blake Griffin$1,669,178

His full salary will be $2,641,691 as a veteran of over 10 years, but signing a one year minimum will count for less against the cap to spare their rising luxury tax bill.

Bazemore (re-)signs with Lakers: one year deal (Shams)
Kent Bazemore$1,669,178

Dedmon re-signs with Miami: one year deal (Shams)
Dewayne Dedmon$1,669,178

Strus re-signs with Miami: 2 years, minimum contract (Woj)
Max Strus$1,669,178$1,815,676

Holmes re-signs with Sacramento: 4 years, "as much as" $55 million
Richaun Holmes$10,380,000$11,210,400$12,040,800$12,871,200

The phrasing is key because they can only guarantee him around $46.5 million with Early Bird Rights.

McLemore signs with Portland (Scotto)

Ojeleye signs with Milwaukee (Woj)

Gilgeous-Alexander signs max extension with Oklahoma City: 4 years, $172 million
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander$5,495,532$29,750,000$32,130,000$34,510,000$36,890,000$39,270,000

Like Young, this could become a $207 million deal.

Vincent re-signs with Miami: 2 years, minimum contract (Shams)
Gabe Vincent$1,669,178$1,815,676

Porter signs with Golden State: minimum contract (Haynes)
Otto Porter$1,669,178

As an eight year veteran, he'll make $2,389,641 but only count at the two year minimum if on a one year deal.

Day 2, 8/3

Dekker signs with Toronto (Woj)
Sam Dekker$1,669,178

Gay signs with Utah: 2 years, $12.1 million (Shams)
Rudy Gay$5,890,000$6,184,500

I am confident in this amount as the Taxpayer MLE.

Bjelica signs with Golden State: one year, minimum contract (Woj)
Nemanja Bjelica$1,669,178

His subsidized salary will be $2,089,447 as a six year veteran.

Brown re-signs with Brooklyn: 1 year, $4.7 million (Woj)
Bruce Brown$4,736,102

The restricted free agent will now have more freedom next season after accepting this qualifying offer.

Hood signs with Milwaukee: one year deal (Woj)
Rodney Hood$1,669,178

I'm projecting the minimum since he is already making $4 million from his partially guaranteed contract that Toronto still needs to waive. Will make $2,239,543 as a seven year veteran.

Johnson signs with Brooklyn: one year deal (Woj)
James Johnson$1,669,178

If for the minimum as expected, his subsidized salary will be $2,641,691 as a veteran of over 10 years. UPDATE: Since Mills is getting the TP MLE, this has to be for the minimum.

Drummond signs with Philadelphia: one year deal (Woj)
Andre Drummond$1,669,178

Projecting the minimum for now, which would net him $2,401,535.

Gibson re-signs with New York: one year, minimum contract (Begley)
Taj Gibson$1,669,178

He'll make the same about as his fellow 2009 draft classmate Johnson above.

Lopez signs with Orlando: 1 year, $5 million (Woj)
Robin Lopez$4,910,000

Estimating that it's the Room MLE.

Nader re-signs with Phoenix: 2 years, $4.2 million (Shams)
Abdel Nader$2,019,231$2,180,769

Might actually be the minimum over two years, which would be $3.8 million.

Louzada re-signs with New Orleans: 4 year deal (Woj)
Didi Louzada$1,489,064$1,752,637$1,902,137$2,057,645

Estimating the minimum after his $1,517,981 team option was declined.

8/13 UPDATE: Andrew Lopez reports that the deal is for $7.7 million total with the latter two years non-guaranteed, and that amount means that Louzada actually got a slight raise with Non-Bird rights giving him 120% of his minimum salary.
Didi Louzada$1,786,877$1,876,221$1,965,565$2,054,909

Mills signs with Brooklyn: 2 years, $12 million (Woj)
Patty Mills$5,890,000$6,184,500

Curry signs extension with Golden State: 4 years, $215 million (Woj)
Stephen Curry$45,780,966$48,070,014$51,915,615$55,761,217$59,606,818

Since he will turn 38 at the end of the 2025-2026 season, he was not eligible for a five year extension due to the Over 38 Rule.

Anthony signs with the Lakers: one year deal (Woj)
Carmelo Anthony$1,669,178

His subsidized salary will be $2,641,691 as a veteran of over 10 years.

Monk signs with the Lakers (Woj)
Malik Monk$1,669,178

Estimating the minimum for now, which would net him slightly more at $1,789,256.

Knight signs with Minnesota: two-way contract (Scotto)

DeRozan agrees to sign-and-trade to Chicago (Shams)

Bulls receive:
DeMar DeRozan$26,984,127$28,333,333$29,682,540

Spurs receive:
Thaddeus Young$14,190,000
Al-Farouq Aminu$10,183,800
2025 1st round pick
2022 (worst of Bulls', Pistons', or Lakers') and 2025 2nd round picks

Snell signs with Portland: one year deal (Woj)
Tony Snell$1,669,178

Nunn signs with the Lakers: 2 years, $10 million (Shams)
Kendrick Nunn$4,878,049$5,121,951

Smith signs with Charlotte: 2 years, $4.5 million guaranteed (Shams)
Ish Smith$4,500,000$4,725,000

Estimating the total amount based on the team option and guarantee reported. This could be completed with the Room MLE after other signings occur.

Morris signs with Miami: one year deal (Woj)
Markieff Morris$1,669,178

Hill (re-)signs with Milwaukee once he clears waivers (Shams) 8/5 UPDATE: 2 years, $8 million
George Hill$3,902,439$4,097,561

Niang signs with Philadelphia: 2 years, $6.7 million (Dowsett)
Georges Niang$3,268,293$3,431,707

Likely part of the MLE but could be the BAE.

Landale signs with San Antonio: two-way contract (Shams)

Whiteside signs with Utah (Woj)
Hassan Whiteside$1,669,178

Forbes (re-)signs with San Antonio (Shams)

Day 3, 8/4

Collins re-signs with Atlanta: 5 years, $125 million (Woj)
John Collins$21,551,724$23,275,862$25,000,000$26,724,138$28,448,276

Walker to sign with New York after finalizing OKC buyout (Woj)
Kemba Walker$8,365,682$8,783,966

Was due salaries of $36,016,200 and $37,653,300 the next two seasons before presumably giving some back to the Thunder to secure his freedom. I am temporarily estimating that he will get almost all of their remaining cap room while leaving enough to sign one of their 2nd round picks to a minimum deal longer than two years.

8/9 UPDATE: Keith Smith reports that Walker gave up $20 million total in his buyout with Oklahoma City: $9,777,778 this season and $10,222,222 for next year.

Wagner re-signs with Orlando: two year deal (Robbins)
Moritz Wagner$1,729,216$1,878,719

Enes Kanter$1,669,178

Oladipo re-signs with Miami: one year deal (Shams)
Victor Oladipo$1,669,178

He will make $2,389,641 while the Heat retain his full Bird Rights to possibly re-sign at a much higher salary next summer.

Davis re-signs with Sacramento: 2 years, $8 million (Scotto)
Terence Davis$3,846,154$4,153,846

Paschall traded to Utah (Woj)

Jazz receive:
Eric Paschall$1,782,621

Warriors receive:
2026 2nd round pick (protected 31-42)

Pick details came from Anthony Slater after Woj broke the news, and Golden State also creates a small Trade Exception the equivalent of this salary. Utah will likely complete this by absorbing the pending restricted free agent into the Tony Bradley Trade Exception from last year.

Dinwiddie agrees to sign-and-trade to Washington: 3 years, $62 million (Shams/Woj)

Wizards receive:
Spencer Dinwiddie$19,604,171$20,584,379$21,564,588
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope$13,038,862$14,004,703
Kyle Kuzma$13,000,000$13,000,000$13,000,000
Montrezl Harrell$9,720,900
Aaron Holiday$3,980,551
#31 pick (Isaiah Todd)
Cash considerations from Indiana

Lakers receive:
Russell Westbrook$44,211,146$47,063,478
Bulls' 2023 2nd round pick
2024 2nd round pick (Worse of Grizzlies' or Wizards')
Wizards' 2028 2nd round pick

Spurs receive:
Chandler Hutchison$4,019,459
2022 2nd round pick (Best of Bulls', Lakers', or Pistons')

Pacers receive:
#22 pick (Isaiah Jackson)

Nets receive:
2024 2nd round pick (Better of Grizzlies' or Wizards')
Right to swap Warriors' 2025 2nd for Wizards' 2025 2nd
Draft rights to Nikola Milutinov (26th pick in 2015)

I'm projecting the starting salary based on this needing to technically be a part of the Russell Westbrook trade previously involving the Lakers and Pacers. By Washington sending out his large salary, they could take back up to $55,363,933, and when you take away the three Lakers' salaries, that leaves you with a starting salary of $19,604,171. With 5% raises each year, that puts the total at $61,753,137, and I'm guessing that's how the negotiations started. The #22 pick becoming involved for Holiday necessitated Hutchison going to San Antonio now, and although I believe that technically could've even gotten Dinwiddie up to $65 million, Washington is already jumping through hoops by sending draft picks out to make this whole deal work.

To facilitate this for their former player, Brooklyn got a couple of those assets and created a Trade Exception of  $11,454,048, aka Dinwiddie's previous salary due to Base Year Compensation. Coincidentally, San Antonio already owned the worst of the Bulls', Lakers', or Pistons' 2nd round pick next year, and now they also get the best of them as thanksfor taking on salary here.

8/5 UPDATE: Fred Katz has all of the moving parts that I've updated now, and it's pretty close to my initial stab at the full deal. Looks like LA got an extra pick added from the initial report as compensations for expanding their deal with Washington, and Dinwiddie's third year is only partially guaranteed.

Lee re-signs with Detroit: three year deal (Woj)

Neto re-signs with Washington (Shams)
Raul Neto$1,669,178

Green re-signs with Philadelphia: 2 years, $20 million (Sanford)
Danny Green$9,615,385$10,384,615

Day 4, 8/5

Randle signs extension with New York: 4 years, "$117 million" (Woj)
Julius Randle$19,800,000$23,760,000$25,660,800$27,561,600$29,462,400

It's really only $106,444,800 guaranteed with Woj doing the agent a favor by reporting the higher number that includes incentives in order to get the scoop.

Wainright signs with Toronto (Woj)
Ishmail Wainright$925,258$1,563,517

Kaminsky re-signs with Phoenix: one year deal (Stein)
Frank Kaminsky$1,669,178

Williams re-signs with Atlanta: 1 year, $5 million (Shams)
Lou Williams$5,000,000

Birch re-signs with Toronto: 3 years, $20 million (Woj)
Khem Birch$6,349,206$6,666,667$6,984,127

Oubre signs with Charlotte: 2 years, $26 million (Haynes/Shams)
Kelly Oubre$12,195,122$12,804,878

8/7 UPDATE: After Haynes first broke the news that Oubre was signing with Charlotte and Shams reported 2/$26M, Haynes now reports that the deal is official and $25 million. Slater adds that only $5 million of the second season is guaranteed.

Day 5, 8/6

Hernangomez re-signs with New Orleans: three year deal (Shams)
Willy Hernangomez$2,327,219$2,443,580$2,559,941

8/17 UPDATE:  Andrew Lopez reported that it's a $7.3 million deal with a team option for the last year, which means that he was signed for the highest salary Non-Bird rights would allow (120% of his minimum) to result in these numbers.

Iguodala (re-)signs with Golden State: 1 year, minimum contract (Abrams)
Andre Iguodala$1,669,178

His full salary will be $2,641,691 as a veteran of over 10 years, but it was important that it's only a one year deal to count for less against the harsh repeater tax.

Bembry signs with Brooklyn: 1 year, minimum contract (Woj)
DeAndre' Bembry$1,669,178

Jackson re-signs with the Clippers: 2 years, $22 million (Woj)
Reggie Jackson$10,380,000$11,210,400

This is the highest salary that they could pay him with Early Bird Rights, but I'm surprised they kept it at the minimum of two years when it could be up to four.

Green re-signs with Chicago: two year deal (Woj)
Javonte Green$1,669,178$1,815,676

Allen traded to Milwaukee (Woj)

Milwaukee receives:
Grayson Allen$4,054,695

Memphis receives:
Sam Merrill$1,517,981
Two future 2nd round picks

This likely uses up most of the D.J. Augustin Trade Exception from February's trade for P.J. Tucker.

Leonard to re-sign with the Clippers: terms being finalized (Haynes)

8/12 UPDATE: He finally settled on what kind of contract he wanted, and it's a 3+1 according to Haynes. This puts him on the same timeline as Paul George with the same 4 years, $176,265,152 contract.

Kawhi Leonard$39,344,900$42,492,492$45,640,084$48,787,676

Winslow signs with the Clippers: two year deal (Woj)
Justise Winslow$3,902,439$4,097,561

8/9 UPDATE: I've added the updated salary now with Winslow actually getting most of the TP MLE according to Keith Smith. This leaves enough of the exception to possibly sign both of their two 2nd round picks to three year deals instead of just two years with the minimum exception, and Shams reported yesterday that this was indeed the case for BJ Boston at least.

Durant to sign a max extension with Brooklyn: 4 years, $198 million (Woj)
Kevin Durant$42,018,900$44,119,845$47,649,433$51,179,020$54,708,608

This replaces the $43,928,850 player option that he had for the 2022-2023 season, and like Curry, he couldn't go longer due to the Over 38 Rule (they were both born in 1988).

Yurtseven re-signs with Miami: two year deal (Marks)
Omer Yurtseven$1,489,064$1,752,637

Although they declined the $1,517,981 team option last week, he was brought back with a longer deal after dominating the first two games of summer league with 52 points and 27 rebounds overall.

Day 8, 8/9

Doncis officially agrees to max extension: 5 years, $207 million (Woj)
Luka Doncic$10,174,391$35,700,000$38,556,000$41,412,000$44,268,000$47,124,000

Since Doncic has already been voted first-team All-NBA twice, he's eligible for 30% of next year's projected salary cap ($119 million) that is typically reserved for players with 7-9 years of experience compared to the 25% max contracts that Young and Gilgeous-Alexander are initially set to earn.

Bacon signs with New York (Bontempts)
Dwayne Bacon$1,669,178

Payton signs with Phoenix: one year deal (Shams)
Elfrid Payton$1,669,178

Hommes signs two-way contract with New Orleans (Woj)

Jackson re-signs with Detroit: 2 years, $6 million (Woj/Scotto)
Frank Jackson$2,926,829$3,073,171

8/10 UPDATE: Scotto provides the details that it's $6 million over the two years with a team option next season.

Chiozza signs two-way contract with Golden State (Woj)

Day 9, 8/10

Schroder signs with Boston: 1 year, $5.9 million (Woj)
Dennis Schroder$5,890,000

The Celtics are crossing into the luxury threshold by using the TP MLE here, which is a far cry from the 4 year, $84 million extension that the Lakers offered him during the season.

Day 8, 8/9

McGruder re-signs with Detroit: 1 year, minimum contract (Scotto)
Rodney McGruder$1,669,178

It's a pretty big pay cut after he was waived before his original $5 million salary became guaranteed.

Brazdeikis signs two-way contract to return to Orlando (Robbins)

Bonga signs with Toronto (Stein)
Isaac Bonga$1,669,178

Day 12, 8/13

Omoruyi signs two-way contract with Dallas (Mavs PR)

Dotson re-signs with Chicago on two-way contract (Shams)

Day 14, 8/15

LA reduces tax bill and roster spots in point guard shuffle (Woj)

Grizzlies receive:
Patrick Beverley$14,320,987
Rajon Rondo$8,250,000
Daniel Oturu$1,517,981

Clippers receive:
Eric Bledsoe$18,125,000$19,375,000

LA was facing a roster crunch with 17 guaranteed salaries plus Yogi Ferrell's non-guaranteed deal, so this solved that issue while also reducing their luxury tax payment by at least $20 million and approaching $30 million, depending on what happens with Ferrell. The Clips also create a Trade Exception equal to Rondo's salary, but they are now on the hook for Bledsoe's salary next season that has $3.9 million guaranteed. Now the onus is on Memphis to clear roster spots since they currently have 17 guaranteed salaries.

Day 15, 8/16

Hart re-sings with New Orleans: 3 years, $38 million (Woj)
Josh Hart$11,728,395$12,666,667$13,604,938

Smart extends with Boston: 4 years, $77.1 million (Shams)
Marcus Smart$14,339,285$17,207,142$18,583,713$19,960,285$21,336,856

Day 16, 8/17

Embiid signs max extension with Philadelphia: 4 years, $196 million (Shelburne)
Joel Embiid$31,579,390$33,616,770$43,732,500$47,231,100$50,729,700$54,228,300

Important note in Shelburne's story of this news is that the salary cap projection for the summer of 2023 is now $124.95 million, which is where these extension estimates come from as 35% of that number in the first season.

Memphis reroutes Beverley to Minnesota (Woj)

Grizzlies receive:
Juan Hernangomez$7,012,440$7,531,880
Jarrett Culver$6,395,160$8,109,063

Timberwolves receive:
Patrick Beverley$14,320,987

Day 18, 8/19

Rozier extends with Charlotte: 4 years, $97 million (Shams)
Terry Rozier$17,905,263$21,486,316$23,205,221$24,924,126$26,643,031

This is the highest amount that he could sign for in an extension, but its nowhere close to a max contract since he could have technically get a starting salary as high as $35.7 million next summer. The terms "max" and, even worse, "supermax" get thrown around way too much as agents try to make themselves look good when feeding info to reporters.

Diallo re-signs with Detroit: 2 years, $10.4 million (Woj)
Hamidou Diallo$5,000,000$5,400,000

Day 19, 8/20

Williams extends with Boston: 4 yers, $54 million (woj)
Robert Williams III$3,661,976$12,053,571$13,017,857$13,982,143$14,946,429
