2019 NFL Wild Card Picks

I won my big CBS Sports pick 'em pool that only runs for the regular season, but with another one still going for the playoffs, we continue!

Texans -2.5 versus Bills

Deshaun Watson versus Josh Allen makes this one pretty straightforward for me. Buffalo does have the better defense, but here's hoping that J.J. Watt's dramatic return inspires Houston's unit to contain Allen's inevitable scrambles. Although I'd feel more confident if Will Fuller was fully healthy, DeAndre Hopkins moves around the formation enough to get loose despite the presence of newly named All-Pro Tre'Davious White.

Patriots -4.5 versus Titans

New England's stunning loss to Miami doesn't make a playoff game in Foxborough seem as daunting, but I still have confidence in Bill Belichick of course, especially against one of his former players, Mike Vrabel. Their defense can contain Derrick Henry and A.J. Brown, so as long as Tom Brady gets a decent amount of protection, this spread isn't too bad.

Vikings +7.5 at Saints

As much as New Orleans may like to run his one up after the Minnesota Miracle, I have faith in 'Sota's defense to keep them in the game. The matchup of the record-setting Michael Thomas against their corners does scare me, though. I'm counting on Dalvin Cook and Adam Thielen being healthy to help match scores.

Eagles +1.5 versus Seahawks

This same matchup in Philly was a bit ugly, but Carson Wentz has been on fire since then to carry his team to a home playoff game that they can sneak by in, especially given Seattle's injuries. If the Eagles can control the line of scrimmage without letting Russell Wilson get out of the pocket, maybe their secondary that's taken a lot of flak can hold up.
